It's official ....

.... I have the flu :-( so I won't be doing any crafting for the next couple of days. It's stinky too b/c today was the first day of fall semester classes....it's just starting and already I'm going to be at least 2 days behind (grrrr). However, on a up note I received my 'Grand Prize' package from the Greeting Farm and my assortment of crocheted flowers from SweetPeaToad (and they are just too cute!). I'll post pics tomorrow of my goodies cuz now I'm headed back to sleep (which is all it seems I'm able to do lately).

Getting ready for Halloween

So I've been sick all weekend and didn't have much time nor the energy to make cards. I tried finishing up my custom bday invite order but ran out of materials (boo). Then I realized today was Sunday and I still hadn't done a card for the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge so I quickly scraped something together. With my brain in a cloud of fuzziness I miscalculated the image size so it actually covers up most of my card including the 3 separate rectangles that you can see in the sketch. Tomorrow I'll see if I can remedy this but here's what I have for now....

Best Witches

Ingredients
  • pp - Imaginisce Halloween
  • cs - DCWV
  • image - Dustin Pike
  • string - Elmer's
  • spider buttons - random
  • eyelets - K&Co
  • sketch - MMSC15

Midnight Madness Take 2

So remember when I tried to make a house front for the Midnight Madness Sketch this week....well I revisited the sketch and with the addition of the color scheme coming from the week of challenges over at The Greeting Farm & Club Anya I was able to produce something I deemed MMSC worthy ;-) When I ran out of permanent glue dots I had to improvise but yesterday I stopped by my favorite scrapbooking store to pick up my refill and all they had was the refill for the repositionable glue dots. While it's nice that if you misplace your piece that you're working on you don't harm your card in any way, the silly little things don't adhere well in the long run. In other words before I sell or give away this card I'm going to have to go back and re-glue down everything (boo). Anyways I give you my creation for the MMSC14 and the Wednesday Brown & Blue challenge......

Brown Blue Bride

Ingredients:
  • pp - My Mind's Eye, DCWV
  • cs - DCWV
  • border punch - EK Success
  • pearl dots - Basic Grey
  • ribbon - Michaels
  • flower - Making Memories
  • gem brad - Making Memories
  • color - watercolor pencils
  • dry emboss - Zing White
  • piercer
  • oval nestabilities - Spellbinders
  • sketch - MMSC14

I'm so excited! I'm so excited!

I'm so....so... scared. LOL do you remember Jessie saying that on Saved by the Bell? The quote just popped into my head after I sold my first card today!!!! Why that quote...who knows but maybe it had something to do with the fact that the card I sold was my Spooktacular Halloween card (get it, I'm excited but the card is scary? LOL). Anyways just thought I would update y'all on my good news and in celebration I will add an extra goodie to my blog candy :-)

ummm...yeah

So when I saw the new Midnight Madness Sketch for this week I immediately thought of a window and flower box....well what I envisioned and what I actually produced are TWO extremely different things (LOL). I don't think this is quite up to MMSC caliber so I'm probably going to redo the sketch with another card but I thought I would at least share the card I did make....

Welcome Home

Ingredients:
  • cs & pp - DCWV Indian Fall
  • stamp - Rain Snow or Shine Miss Anyas (TGF)
  • nestabilities - fancy square & scalloped oval
  • ribbon - Pebbles & Co
  • clear window - SheetLoad ShortCuts
  • candy dots (colored with copics to match pp)
  • color - copics
  • sketch: MMSC14

So there's no TGF new release for the 15th of the month (*tear*) but there is a fun week of challenges to participate in :-) Monday's challenge was to make a card with a 'back to school' theme. • stamp - Teacher Anya (TGF)
  • ribbon - Making Memories
  • black ink - VersaCraft

  • cs - DCWV
  • pp - My Mind's Eye (Spooked)

  • Glitter should not be used.

2. If possible, e-mail a photograph of your butterflies, to butterflyproject@hmh.org.

FFF Sketch III

Time for another Farm Fresh Friday Sketch!!! I really liked this one as it had so many possibilities. I haven't used a ShortCuts Frosted card in awhile so I decided to break one out and use it for my card base. With so many friends getting hitched I thought I might increase my wedding card stash. To go with my wedding themed papers I decided to alter my Anya/Ian couple from the Cake Topper set. I made Anya a blushing bride and made the set up look like it was a wedding portrait photo with her smelling her bouquet. To make the flower embellishments I used 3 different flower punches and heat embossed my white brads to make them silver. I think I really like how this turned out....what about you?

I do

Ingredients:
  • pp -
  • cs - DCWV Metallics
  • card base - medium frosted card blank (ShortCuts)
  • sentiment tag - Making Memories
  • stamps - Cake Topper (TGF), Bella Topiary (Stamping Bella)
  • punches - Nesties, EK Success, other
  • brads - K&Co
  • embossing powder - Zing Silver
  • emboss folder - Swiss Dots (Cuddlebug)
  • pop up dots
  • adhesive gems - Michaels

My DT entry....

...for the Anyone for Anyas? Challenge blog. I honestly think 90% of the cards I make have some TGF stamp on them--I'm totally addicted! So when I first saw the sketch immediately I knew what I was going to do...well at least how I was going to alter it. Then today I decided to stop by my fav scrapbooking store to grab me some QuickKutz dies while they were 1/2 off. While I was eyeing things I really didn't need I came across an adorable pp from American Crafts with puzzle pieces on it and I just knew that was what my card's pp would be. I also got a nice surprise when I went to check out...apparently I had finally spent enough money to get a $10 customer appreciation coupon...WOOOHHOOOO! On that high I went straight home to make the card. I whipped out my Sizzix puzzle die cut, altered Teacher Anya and put it all together. I also tried a new technique....paper piercing....though I'm not sure I did it quite right (oh well you have to learn somewhere, right?). So without further ado, here's my submission to the DT call....

Love U To Pieces

Ingredients:
  • pp - American Crafts (Kids)
  • cs - DCWV
  • ribbon - Michaels
  • stamp - Teacher Anya (TGF)
  • colors - watercolor pencils & copics
  • tag - Me&my big ideas
  • brad - K&Co
  • die cut - Sizzix Puzzle
  • ink - craft smart (brick red & black)
