Here are 2 cards by my sister Michelle. The first one is for the same Embellish Color Challenge I participated in (see the previous post) and the second is a card for our brother.

What are the chances?
That two of the challenges I frequently participate in would have the same exact challenge? LOL, guess it works out for me then ;-) The two challenges I'm referring to are the Basic Grey 2week Challenge and Farm Fresh Fridays over at TGF who's challenges are both to use an embossing technique.
So my grandpa's bday was on Saturday and being so busy with school and getting sick last week I didn't have time to make a card. I bought these papers a while ago and they ended up going perfectly with Fishing Ian from the Rock the Farm set. To make everything pull together inside the card says 'Fishing You Happy Birthday', cute huh? :-)
So where's the embossing you ask? Well, I used my nestabilites to emboss a circle edge around the image and I heat embossed the clear Zing embossing powder that I dusted Ian with. Because there was so much going on with the patterned papers I felt that doing a lot of dry embossing on a background paper would overwhelm the card. Anyways hope y'all (and my gpa) like it.

Design My Sprout @ TGF
Over at The Greeting Farm Marie is giving the fans a chance to design the next Sprout! So I decided to try my hand at drawing (eek). My 3 sprouts are Bobbie Jo (the Cutie Bowler), Bettie Sue (the 50s Sweetheart), and Sandy (the Skating Princess).
First I started off with the gray bodies Marie provided...
Then I sketched my ideas....notice the roughness :-P
Now finally here's the final product (I traced the images from my sketches). Meet my Wild Sprouts crew.... Bobbie Jo, Bettie Sue and Sandy!

It's official ....
.... I have the flu :-( so I won't be doing any crafting for the next couple of days. It's stinky too b/c today was the first day of fall semester classes....it's just starting and already I'm going to be at least 2 days behind (grrrr). However, on a up note I received my 'Grand Prize' package from the Greeting Farm and my assortment of crocheted flowers from SweetPeaToad (and they are just too cute!). I'll post pics tomorrow of my goodies cuz now I'm headed back to sleep (which is all it seems I'm able to do lately).

Crafting Craziness!
So today I started on some custom work for the private requests I've received on etsy.com....one request is for a one year bday invite and the other is a mini-note card set. When I finish these I'll definitely post them :-)

Midnight Madness Take 2
So remember when I tried to make a house front for the Midnight Madness Sketch this week....well I revisited the sketch and with the addition of the color scheme coming from the week of challenges over at The Greeting Farm & Club Anya I was able to produce something I deemed MMSC worthy ;-) When I ran out of permanent glue dots I had to improvise but yesterday I stopped by my favorite scrapbooking store to pick up my refill and all they had was the refill for the repositionable glue dots. While it's nice that if you misplace your piece that you're working on you don't harm your card in any way, the silly little things don't adhere well in the long run. In other words before I sell or give away this card I'm going to have to go back and re-glue down everything (boo). Anyways I give you my creation for the MMSC14 and the Wednesday Brown & Blue challenge......

ummm...yeah
So when I saw the new Midnight Madness Sketch for this week I immediately thought of a window and flower box....well what I envisioned and what I actually produced are TWO extremely different things (LOL). I don't think this is quite up to MMSC caliber so I'm probably going to redo the sketch with another card but I thought I would at least share the card I did make....

A Week of Challenges at Club Anya
So there's no TGF new release for the 15th of the month (*tear*) but there is a fun week of challenges to participate in :-) Monday's challenge was to make a card with a 'back to school' theme. I don't really have anyone I know going back to school so I made it into a thank you card. Here's what I came up with.....
Apple Thanks
Ingredients:
Today's challenge (Tuesday) is to make a card with a 'crazy hair day' theme. As Halloween is just around the corner I decided to take inspiration from the new Spooktacular stamp set and my new papers from My Mind's Eye. I altered Nurse Anya and gave her a spider-inspired dress. Here's the final project.....

I wanted to make a Christmas card b/c really you can never have too many :-) I used my new crochet ribbon as well as my new i silk ribbon that I just received from i {heart} paper. This card provided a little extra difficulty as I ran out of roller dot glue and had to use liquid glue & glue stick....um yeah not so fun :-P

FFF Sketch III
Time for another Farm Fresh Friday Sketch!!! I really liked this one as it had so many possibilities. I haven't used a ShortCuts Frosted card in awhile so I decided to break one out and use it for my card base. With so many friends getting hitched I thought I might increase my wedding card stash. To go with my wedding themed papers I decided to alter my Anya/Ian couple from the Cake Topper set. I made Anya a blushing bride and made the set up look like it was a wedding portrait photo with her smelling her bouquet. To make the flower embellishments I used 3 different flower punches and heat embossed my white brads to make them silver. I think I really like how this turned out....what about you?

My DT entry....
...for the Anyone for Anyas? Challenge blog. I honestly think 90% of the cards I make have some TGF stamp on them--I'm totally addicted! So when I first saw the sketch immediately I knew what I was going to do...well at least how I was going to alter it. Then today I decided to stop by my fav scrapbooking store to grab me some QuickKutz dies while they were 1/2 off. While I was eyeing things I really didn't need I came across an adorable pp from American Crafts with puzzle pieces on it and I just knew that was what my card's pp would be. I also got a nice surprise when I went to check out...apparently I had finally spent enough money to get a $10 customer appreciation coupon...WOOOHHOOOO! On that high I went straight home to make the card. I whipped out my Sizzix puzzle die cut, altered Teacher Anya and put it all together. I also tried a new technique....paper piercing....though I'm not sure I did it quite right (oh well you have to learn somewhere, right?). So without further ado, here's my submission to the DT call....
